"Both of these are unusual for me because they are examples of how I draw when no one is looking. I grew up on comic books, nintendo games, and would draw primarily in my sketchbook with pen and ink. In the guys face you can see some of the comic book influence. And the larger piece in more indicative of the work I normally do but it stands as an example of the experimentation I like to keep in my practice. When I started I had no idea how it was going to turn out and that's a tension I'm trying to engage with in my larger works as well. Knowing when to stop and when to keep pushing."
