"All of these drawings came from a drawer in my studio that I call the island of misfit children. haha. They are drawings that I had a lot of fun working on, that I was excited about but I wasn't sure how they would fit into my next exhibit. Because maybe they were a little too eerie, or not representing a characters story in the way I want. So I would go develop a story that would sit well on a canvas but the ink drawing would go into the drawer. I haven't actually dug through that drawer in a couple of years so it was nice to pull them out and go through them. A lot of ideas that I explore in my work started as one of these misfits."
